Student project contest
Institute of Computer Science announces the IT student project contest. Students of University of Tartu are invited to participate either as individuals or in teams.
The project submitted has to be in the field of IT, it can be a practical or theoretical research or implementation project. It may be associated with any course, or be a completely new and personal initiative For example a project from a course, educational resource, public software, a start-up idea etc.
Projects will be evaluated in three categories:
1) First year Bachelor's level.
2) Bachelor's level.
3) Master's level.
Participation is open to undergraduate (BSc) and graduate (MSc) students of the University of Tartu (regardless of the curriculum) in teams of one to five. A project can have one supervisor.
The deadline for submitting the project is May 27 (including). To participate upload your poster and project’s public web address where one can access the project results to https://courses.cs.ut.ee.
The presentation, evaluation, and announcement of the winners will take place on May 31 at 12 in Paabel.
Prizes: at least a €3,000 prize fund for every contest. Estimated prizes: €1000 for I , €800 for II, and € 600 for III prize (per team). The committee retains the right to make decisions as they see best. Special categories can be created and awarded as the Institute sees fit. Companies and individuals are welcome to contribute to the prize fund.
The evaluation of the projects happens at an event where authors of projects present their work in front of a live jury. The winners will be chosen on the same day based on the feedback of institute employees and invited company representatives. The institute will print the posters for projects submitted.
