University of Tartu students participated in the Northwestern Europe Regional Contest
Our student team "UT Randomized Algorithms" participated in the Northwestern Europe Regional Contest from 15-17 November and ranked 13th, which was the best result among Estonian and neighbouring universities.
123 teams from various universities from Northwest Europe competed in the contest and the team “UT Randomized Algorithms”, which has members from both the Institute of Computer Science and the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics ranked 13th. The participating students were Joosep Näks, Tähvend Uustalu and Semjon Kravtšenko. Another team from the University of Tartu, „Umbisikuline Tegumood“, ranked 110th.
The goal of each team is to solve as many problems as possible within the 5-hour time limit. Our team „TÜ Randomized Algorithms“ solved 6 tasks out of 11. The winning team solved 9 tasks.
