The University of Tartu hosts the Security Day for the Baltic Conference on Databases and Information Systems
The 14th International Baltic Conference on Databases and Information Systems (Baltic DB&IS 2020) is a venue to discuss research findings on engineering reliable, secure and sustainable information systems, where data and data analysis in the central role. This year the conference is held virtually in Tallinn and Tartu, Estonia, during June 16-19, 2020. It is organized by the Tallinn University of Technology and the University of Tartu.
The conference program includes topics on databases and information systems architecture and quality. Data knowledge and engineering, enterprise and information systems engineering. “An important part of the program is the Security Day originally planned at the University of Tartu Delta Centre. The security day will feature the topics of security of data and information systems,” told Raimundas Matulevičius, Professor of Information Security at the University of Tartu. He added, that despite the keynote presentation by Dr Jan Willemson (Cybernetica AS) on the development of new encryption mechanisms for the Estonian eID infrastructure, the security day will also feature the talks on the security of data and information systems, mitigation against the phishing attacks, and security risk management in the blockchain applications.
The Security Day will complete with the presentation of the Strategic Programs for Advanced Research and Technology in Europe (SPARTA, H2020 project, www.sparta.eu) which can be watched online for free to all registered participants. SPARTA is a European project, which aims re-imagining the way cybersecurity research, innovation, and training are performed in Europe across domains and expertise, from foundations to applications, in academia and industry. The workshop will overview the SPARTA roadmap and the sent SPARTA associate and friend programs highlighting their opportunities and benefits.
