Internship
Practical Training is a course which requires students to complete an internship with a company operating in the ICT sector. The length of the internship is connected to the student's specialization and level of studies, but generally remains between 160-480 hours, which can be divided across a longer period. Successful internship also requires a supervisor from the company and we suggest forming task-based teams for internship positions. Internship can either be paid or without pay. After the completion of the intership the student has to present and defend their internship report.
Internship related questions can be addressed to ati.praktika [ät] ut.ee and company representatives can add their internship offers into our internship database.
NB! We will not forward offers to student mailing lists if they are not added to the database.
Internship for International Students
Due to our English language Master's programmes nearly half of our MSc students are from abroad. While offering internship places please also consider international students. Students outside the EU generally have a residence permit for studying. Holders of such a residence permit can work to fulfill an internship requirement in their curriculum without having a work permit. If a company is paying the student for the internship, it is advisable to put into the contract that the internship is connected to the student's degree studies.
